Gaya, Oct. 7: Homeguard jawan Sitaram Yadav has accused Tekari sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Manish Kumar Sinha of thrashing him with a cricket bat on refusing to give him a body massage.

Acting on the complaint of the jawan posted at Tekari police station, Gaya senior superintendent of police (SSP) Garima Malik has ordered an inquiry into the incident.

"I have received a complaint. It is a serious allegation. I have asked assistant superintendent of police Baliram Chaudhary to probe the allegations. On the basis of the inquiry, the guilty will be punished," the SSP said on Friday.

The homeguard jawan, in his complaint dated October 6, said: "The SDPO asked me for a body massage on October 2. I did not comply with the order and told him that I was not in the police force to do that. The SDPO, instantly, hurled filthy abuses at me. On October 5, the SDPO was on his way play cricket when he saw me and started beating me up with his cricket bat. When I went to Tekari police station to lodge a case against the SDPO, it was not accepted."

All eight homeguard jawans posted at Tekari police station reached the Gaya SSP's office to deposit arms and ammunition in protest. They were all shifted from duty.
