Three Maoists were arrested during a joint operation by Central Reserve Police Force and State Auxiliary Police personnel in Sheohar district on Sunday.
Officiating deputy inspector-general of police (Tirhut) Rajesh Kumar, who is also the senior superintendent of police of Muzaffarpur, said: “Meghu Sahni, Ram Babu Sahni and Shyam Babu Sahni were arrested at Taryani village and the security personnel found two firearms, six cartridges and several incriminating documents on them. The three been associated with the banned outfit for over a decade.”
He added: “Shyam Babu Sahni has admitted to his involvement in the murder of a CRPF assistant commandant in 2007.”
Following interrogation of the three rebels, police caught Bharat Sahni, a dacoit wanted in several cases, at Minapur in Muzaffarpur. Similar operations were also carried out in Muzaffarpur and Sitamarhi.
