Patna, Sept. 29: Job opportunities are opening up to the students across the state. Students are no longer required to go in for walk-in interviews as the companies are visiting colleges to conduct interviews these days.

IBM Daksh, Gurgaon, conducted one such recruitment — for the post of executive (operation) — on Magadh Mahila College premises today.

Around 323 girls took the interview.

While the selected students were content with the results, the others left the interview with more experience.

The team from IBM Daksh, Gurgaon conducted a three-round interview.

Lead HR Rohit Kumar Sharma headed the team. Sharma said: “We require around 5,000 people. Recruitments are being carried in most of the states in India. We are looking for candidates who are adept in English. The candidates should have command over grammar as well.”

At the campus recruitment, the girls were asked to select a topic of their choice and speak on that.

The recruiters wanted to see their fluency in English. The first two rounds in the three-part interview process included personal interview and voice quality test. The girls selected after the two rounds were then asked to give a written examination to measure their aptitude.

Trina Sinha, a final year Bcom student, cleared all the three rounds and was selected for the job. She said: “I was pretty confident about getting the job. Now, I will take the job back home.”

Sneha Rani, from the same batch as Trina, could not, however, make it to the third round.

She said: “I was a bit nervous at the interview. But, now, having gone through so many rounds I am confident. Qualifying does not matter at this stage. What is important is to have the maximum experience.”

Niharika Rani and Shaistah Quamar agreed with Sneha.

Niharika said: “This was a good practice for us. Now we know what questions are asked at interviews.”

IBM Daksh has already conducted interviews at Patna Women’s College and plans to organise campus recruitment at JD Women’s College as well.

“We had organised campus recruitment at Patna Women’s College from September 27 to 28. More than 120 girls were selected. We will also organise interviews at JD Women’s College tomorrow,” Sharma said.
