| Minister of state for human resource development Upendra Kushwaha, singers Udit Narayan and Sharda Sinha, social activists and doctors clean the New Gardiner Road Government Hospital premises in Patna on Tuesday as part of Swacchh Bharat Mission. Udit Narayan and cricketer Saba Karim are among the nine stars selected by Kushwaha to carry forward Narendra Modi’s campaign in Bihar. Chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, Super 30 founder Anand Kumar, folk singer Sharda Sinha, social worker Sudha Verghese, orthopaedic surgeon Amulaya Kumar Singh, CEO of ABP News Uday Shankar and Radio Mirchi team were the other nominees of Kushwaha team. Kushwaha said he had made a request to chief minister Manjhi through a letter to be part of the mission a month ago, but had not received consent so far. Kushwaha said everybody was tasked to associate nine others in the campaign. The aim of such a chain is to engage more than 1.25 crore citizens with the cleanliness drive across the country to achieve the mission of Clean India by 2019. (PTI) |
