Health scam arrest

Patna: A doctor was arrested from Kaimur on Monday evening for her alleged involvement in the Rs 6.33-crore financial irregularities in the National Rural Health Mission in the district.

Police said Indu Singh, owner of a private nursing home, was among 12 doctors against whom non-bailable arrest warrants were issued by the local court. A police team raided Indu's house on Monday night and took her into custody.

NIOS results

Patna: National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) will declare the senior secondary public examination results for 2017 on Wednesday.

UP CM visit

Patna: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath will be in Bihar on June 15-16.

Campaign

Patna: Social organisation Koshish on Tuesday released a status report on child marriage in 10 slums of Patna. The organisation is running a campaign against child marriage in the district with painting competitions, signature campaigns and street plays.

Thakur award

Patna: Former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi congratulated BJP MP Dr C.P. Thakur for being accorded the lifetime achievement award by World Health Organization recently.

Two injured

Bettiah: A woman and her minor daughter suffered severe injuries when a mobile phone exploded at Bagaha in West Champaran district on Tuesday. The injured have been rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Viral video

Muzaffarpur: A video of a girl in her school uniform pleading with a group of criminals beating her boyfriend on a bridge in Sitamarhi district has been widely circulated on social media.

Land feud

Jehanabad: Two persons were killed at Beldaribigha village on Monday night. Police said Nirmal Kumar (21) and Sintu Kumar (18) were attacked while returning home from the local market on a motorbike, allegedly over land dispute.

Milk scheme credit

Patna: BJP spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan on Tuesday said the central government has launched a scheme for purchasing milk directly from farmers in West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj and Siwan districts in spite of the Bihar government's failure to provide land to set up collection centres.

He claimed that farmers were getting a benefit of Rs 4 per kg of milk from this scheme.

Result jab

Patna: Senior BJP leader Nand Kishore Yadav on Tuesday put the state government in the dock for the poor results in the Intermediate examinations, conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board, saying they exposed the reality of Bihar's education system.
