The state government has allocated Rs 5,085 crore for the health sector for 2012-2013, deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi said at an international seminar on “Emergency, Medicine and Trauma” in Patna on Monday.
The seminar was organised by Jai Prakash Narayan All India Institute of Medical Sciences (JPNAIIMS) on its premises. Modi said the government is spending 1.2 per cent of the total gross domestic product on the health sector.
He added that the state has tied up with an NGO, Keonics, to provide tele-medicine facility to 212 primary health centres and 36 district hospitals.
