HC rejects arrest stay

Patna, March 10: Patna High Court today declined to stay the arrest of Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University (KSDSU) vice-chancellor Nand Kishore Sharma who has allegedly been involved in financial irregularities of crores of rupees.

A bench of Justice Shailesh Kumar Sinha passed the order on a petition filed by Nand Kishore Sharma, who is set to retire on March 15, seeking direction for a proper and fair police investigation.

Sentence

Additional district and sessions judge-IX Basisth Narayan Singh today sentenced Rajdeo Bind (40), Bindeshwar Bind (48) and Shiv Pujan Bind (47) to life imprisonment for murdering Manoj Kumar Baitha and Ayodhya Ram.

The convicted persons are supposed to be supporters of the erstwhile People’s War Group, while Baitha and Ram were CPI (ML) supporters.
