Patna: Like La Tomatina? Head to the Valencian town of Buñol, a town located in the east of Spain, 30km from the Mediterranean in August.
Not enough patience: Visit Hungama World water park for pre-Holi celebrations on February 28 for a similar feel.
Residents can indulge in the same La Tomatina spirit, albeit in desi style - mud holi and dahi-handi - and get themselves dirty, at Valencia 2018, organised by Event Panda in collaboration with Hungama World - a water-cum-amusement park.
"Hungama World water park has been organising the La Tomatina festival since the past few years but this year it will be different because it would be a combination of Spain's tomato fight festival, mud holi, dahi-handi and other events. We have collaborated with Hungama World water park for this year's event. One of the attractions of the event will be Russian belly dancers while there will be Delhi-based music bands that will perform retro and classical music. There would also be a rap performance by city-based Abhishek Talented. Also, there will be two group dance performances, one from Delhi and the other from Patna," said Event Panda owner Chandrakant Tiwary.
Tiwary said food will complement the mood. "We will serve bhang lassi, dahi vada and holi special snacks apart from samosas, kachauri and chaat. There will also be Chinese vegetarian and non-vegetarian items. While the per-person ticket charge is Rs 300, we are charging Rs 600 for couples and Rs 1,150 for four people's entry. Residents can book tickets online at www.eventpanda.com and they can also contact 9953035907 for ticket-related queries," added Tiwary.
Funtasia Island, another water park, too had planned a La Tomatino festival on February 24 and 25 in collaboration with Reel Event-an event management company. "We organised modelling, dance competition, solo dance performances along with a magic show. There were exciting couple and family games," said Raj Arya, an official of Reel Event.
