Patna lad Sharad Vivek Sagar's initiative Dexterity to College or D2C will select Class VIII to XII students from Bihar and prepare them for globally renowned colleges such as Harvard, MIT, Cornell and Tufts. This is the second year D2C, which is part of Sharad's Dexterity Global, is organising the programme.
Students can register at www.d2c.org.in.
Those who register will have to sit for a written test on August 28, where they will be assessed on reading, writing and mathematical abilities. Selected students will undergo a camp from December 26 to 30 where alumni and admission officers from global institutions will coach them. From the camp, D2C fellows will be selected and they will receive full application support and mentoring free of cost. The D2C fellows will be groomed for a year and they will be asked to apply at top foreign universities next year.
"It is just like a sportsperson getting a sponsorship," Sharad (24) explained. "We will select students from state, help and groom them get admission at reputed foreign institutes. Admission officials from Harvard University, Tufts University and few other global universities of repute are part of Dexterity Global's team, apart from alumni of these universities."
Sharad's initiative to help students from economically weaker sections has even found mention in the Michigan State University's entrepreneurship course.
"In the past students who have undergone Dexterity platforms, including D2C, have received admissions offers from top-notch institutions such as Cornell University, University of California, Tufts University, New York University, Virginia Tech, King's College London, etc, and have secured scholarships worth several crores," said Swaraj Priyadarshi, who is a member of Dexterity Global and a student at Tufts University.
Swaraj too got admission at Tufts through D2C and is studying international relations at the university in Boston. Swaraj, a Patna lad, completed his Class XII from Shivam School Danapur.
