Patna, Dec. 1: The high court today reserved its judgment on a petition challenging the Bihar Public Service Commission’s decision to announce results for the preliminary test by deleting nine marks out of 150.
A bench of Justice Ajay Kumar Tripathi reserved the verdict after hearing the petit-ioners of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), the state and the candidates, who could not make it to the merit list of the preliminary test results announced in July.
The court had on November 17 asked the commission to explain whether it intended to add nine marks to the cut-off list or wanted to prepare a fresh merit list by deleting nine wrong answers.
Appearing for BPSC, additional advocate-general (1) La-lit Kishore said the panel was ready for both the options. But if the panel opted for the first option, it would not have any impact on the results declared, he added.
The petitioners’ counsel, Manan Kumar Mishra, said instead of going into any complication, the commission should reduce the cut-off marks by nine and then declare a fresh result. The commission, during the hearing, admitted that of the 150 marks for which preliminary examination was conducted, nine questions were found wrong.
