Patna, Dec. 21: Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCo) will go the extra mile to attract bidders who would take up the Shaheed Veer Kunwar Singh Azadi Park development project.
BUIDCo will organise road shows and seminars in other metropolitan cities like Delhi and Mumbai to bring in quality bids.
“We will organise road shows and seminars for the development of the park in Delhi and Mumbai within a fortnight. The idea is to reap the benefits of competitive bidding condition and attract best practices from across the country. The transaction advisors and support agency for the project, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Private Limited, would play a major role in organising the road shows and seminars,” said a senior BUIDCo official.
An ambitious design was created for the proposed mega park that would include world-class infrastructure like 4D theatre, open-air theatre, sky tunnel, skating ring and watchtower.
According to sources, developers from across the country are showing interest in the project.
“The corporation has received 10 applications in response to the expression of interest for the park development project. Many other reputed firms from across the nation are sending their queries through e-mails regarding the project, prior to submitting bids. We have also sent letters to Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (Credai) headquarters, its regional wings and Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry among other developers’ organisations,” said the BUIDCo official.
The park project site would be spread over lush green area of nearly 20.71 acres. It is located in the heart of the state capital along Hardinge Road.
The site was conceptualised to be developed in two parts — part A and B — having approximate land areas of 4.04 acres and 16.31 acres respectively. An estimated Rs 242.96 crore would be spent on the development of the iconic park in public-private partnership mode.
“The PPP mode would create a win-win situation for both the private sector firm and BUIDCo. As a facilitator, the corporation would provide land parcel for the park development project to the private sector in lieu of revenue share. Whereas, the private sector firm would get rights to develop, operate and appropriate self-determined user fee for the infrastructure developed by them,” said the official.
Court order
A Patna high court bench of Justice S.N. Hussain today directed the state government to tell the court by January 13 about its alternate arrangement with regard to shifting of Andolan Sthal (protest zone) earmarked in Shaheed Veer Kunwar Singh Azadi Park. The bench passed the direction after hearing a plea of advocate Shambhu Sharan Singh who submitted that the government has earmarked a place for protesters at the park, which might create problems for visitors, particularly elderly and children.
