Gaya, Dec. 17: The two-day meeting of the 20th Technical Coordination Committee and Eastern Regional Power Committee (ERPC) that concluded today approved constitution of a national committee, which will put an end to discrimination in power distribution in Bihar and Jharkhand.
Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB) and the ERPC chairperson Prabhat Kumar Rai said the committee would interact with the Centre on the problems faced by Bihar, Jharkhand, Sikkim, Odisha and Bengal.
Rai regretted that Bihar and Jharkhand faced power shortages despite having coal linkages and rivers to generate power. According to sources, the protocol to allocate 15 per cent of power generated at the units is not being followed by the Centre in the case of Bihar and Jharkhand.
