The Annual Society of Oncology Conference 2012 — a three-day meet to discuss the latest advancements in the field of cancer treatment — start off in the capital on Friday.

Dr Rajesh Kumar Singh, the organising secretary of the event, said at least 45 doctors from outside the state would participate in the seminar.

He said: “Cancer has emerged as a major disease in the country in recent times. Thankfully, the treatment of the dreaded disease is getting advanced with the latest technology, therapies and drugs. We will discuss all these during the three-day conference.”
