Chief minister Nitish Kumar inaugurates the six-day Destination Bihar Expo-2014 at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on Saturday. He said the private industrial area policy, which the state government has started to acquire land for industries, should be properly advertised in the major cities of the state. “The private industrial area policy was a good move of the state government to acquire land for industries. However, the same needed to be advertised in a better way across the state so that interested landowners get to know about it and avail of the opportunity,” Nitish said. He added that the state government had started several schemes and programmes like Udyami Adalat and Udyami Panchayat to help the industrialists. Nitish also said the first private industrial area was almost ready in Mokama and an industry needed to be developed on the plot. He said the Udyami Panchayat, which is held on every fifth Monday, would not take place this time as the model code of conduct for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections would come into force. The expo will remain closed on Sunday with the industrialists supporting the Bihar Bandh call of Nitish Kumar. Text by Joy Sengupta, picture by Nagendra Kumar Singh |
