Man rapes teenaged daughter

• PURNEA: A 13-year-old girl has accused her father of raping her on Thursday night. In a complaint lodged with the Women's police station in Purnea on Friday, the girl has said her father assaulted her when her mother was in Calcutta for some work. The girl and her younger sister were in the house when the accused, a rickshaw-puller, raped the girl. Women's police station house officer Madhuri Kumar said the girl was sent for medical examination after the complaint was lodged. The accused is absconding.

Central deputation

• PATNA: Preeta Verma, a 1991-batch IPS officer, will go on central deputation as chief executive officer of khadi and village industries commissioner at its headquarters in Mumbai. Verma is at present posted as additional director-general of police at the police headquarters. The Bihar government has given her a no-objection certificate.

Suicide threat

• BUXAR: A video, allegedly showing an executive officer of the building construction department, Pawan Kumar, threatening to commit suicide, went viral on social networking sites on Saturday. Pawan was allegedly being harassed by his senior Rajendra Kumar, but has not lodged any complaint in the matter.
