BJP gears up for poll

Purnea, June 15: The BJP today shared its preparedness for the Purnea bypoll, scheduled on June 25.

The Purnea Assembly seat became vacant after its representative Rajkishore Keshari was murdered on January 4.

Election-in-charge and BJP’s state general secretary, Mangal Pandey, Purnea MP Uday Singh and the candidate for the seat Kiran Keshari, wife of Rajkishore briefed reporters about the poll preparedness.

Pandey told The Telegraph that prominent leaders including deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, road construction minister Nand Kishore Yadav, health minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey and party president C.P. Thakur were likely to visit the constituency and would address gatherings.

However, the itinerary of these leaders has not been fixed yet except that of Thakur, who is expected in Purnea on Thursday.
