BJP bypoll names are official

The BJP on Monday formally announced the names of its candidates for Araria Lok Sabha and Bhabhua Assembly bypolls: former MP Pradip Singh for Araria, and Rinky Rani Devi, widow of the incumbent MLA Anand Bhushan Pandey, for Bhabhua.

Patna: The BJP on Monday formally announced the names of its candidates for Araria Lok Sabha and Bhabhua Assembly bypolls: former MP Pradip Singh for Araria, and Rinky Rani Devi, widow of the incumbent MLA Anand Bhushan Pandey, for Bhabhua.

The JDU has already announced Abhiram Sharma as its candidate for the Jehanabad Assembly seat.

All three NDA candidates will file their nomination papers on Tuesday, the last day for filing. Voting for the three seats will take place on March 11 and votes will be counted on March 14.

The NDA, to project a united face, will send a combination of leaders from its constituent parties along with the candidates when they file their nomination papers.

Singh, JDU ministers Dinesh Chandra Yadav and Kapil Dev Kamath, and HAMS president CM Jitan Ram Manjhi will be in Araria for the nomination filing. In Bhabhua, BJP minister Prem Kumar, JDU minister Shravan Kumar and BJP leader Nagendra Nath will accompany Rinky. IN Jehanabad, BJP leader C.P. Thakur and BJP minister Ram Narayan Mandal will accompany JDU candidate Abhiram.

Rai claimed all the three NDA candidates would win the bypolls easily as people of the state are happy over development works being done by the NDA government.

The Araria and Jehanabad seats had gone to RJD kitty in previous elections while the BJP had won Bhabhua.
