Six loot bank, injure manager
Madhubani: Criminals on Monday looted Rs 2.4 lakh from the counter of Pali branch of Uttar Bihar Kshetriya Gramin Bank in the district, after injuring bank employees with a knife.
The six criminals fled away on bikes towards Sitamarhi Road after looting the bank. The superintendent of police, Navin Chandra Jha, said police have started probing the matter after registering the case of loot. Sources said though the bank had a private guard, he hardly did anything to prevent the loot. The branch manager of the bank Nandan Kumar suffered serious injuries in the incident and is undergoing treatment in Madhubani town, about 210km northeast of Patna.
Police foil attack plan
Aurangabad: Police seized weapons and explosives during a joint operation launched against Maoists in Chalho forensic area in Aurangabad district on Monday. Aurangabad superintendent of police Upendra Sharma said the police foiled the Maoists’ plan to carry out attacks on the security personnel during the Lok Sabha polls after the arrest of three rebels on Sunday.

Patna: A high court division bench while hearing a PIL on Monday, directed the director-general of police and secretary of urban development department to file affidavits regarding correctness of affidavits filed by 25 station house officers posted in Patna district for removal of khatals in their respective areas.
