North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited has carried out capacity augmentation of transformers at sub-stations of 21 districts to ensure quality and smooth energy supply.

The company has also decided to install 10 additional 10MVA power transformers at sub-stations in different district headquarters.

“We have been strengthening the power distribution network in north Bihar since the company came into existence in November last year. The company has installed additional power transformers in both rural and urban areas of all 21 districts falling under the company’s jurisdiction,” said Sanjay Kumar Agrawal, the company’s managing director.

“Officials have been directed to complete the augmentation work by end of September,” he added.

“The company has so far augmented the capacity of power transformers of up to 100MVA in the districts of north Bihar in the past nine months,” said H.R. Pandey, the deputy general manager (public relations) of Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Limited, before adding that the current phase of capacity augmentation would ensure better power supply in both urban and rural areas which at present get 16-20hrs and 10-14hrs of supply respectively.

The installation of more transformers would reduce the load on sub-stations that cause frequent power cuts.

Mobile bill collection
