Patna, Dec. 6: Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has asked architects empanelled with it to prepare a checklist for different types of plots for the purpose of approval of building plan comprising maps.
The architects have also been asked to assist the civic body in preparing a record of the average width of the roads in different areas of the city. Such instructions were issued in a meeting called by municipal commissioner Kuldip Narayan today to formalise strategies for approval of building plans and maps according to the provisions of the new building byelaws.
'The new building byelaws have been approved by the state cabinet and would soon be notified through a gazette notification. So, a meeting with the empanelled architects was called today to deliberate the aspects of approval of maps based on norms prescribed by the new byelaws,' said Narayan.
According to the Bihar Municipal Competent Authority for Sanction of Building Plan Rules, 2014, issued on April 7, 2014, the municipal commissioner is authorised to sanction the building plan based on recommendation from the architects as per the norms envisaged by building byelaws.
'We have been asked to ensure accuracy of the maps, as these would be approved,' said Vishnu Kumar Choudhary, vice-chairman, Indian Institute of Architects, Bihar-Jharkhand chapter.
