Patna, July 19: The RJD today alleged the JD(U) and BJP are still linked after both voted against the Congress-JMM alliance in the Jharkhand Assembly.
The party will also organise a march tomorrow at district headquarters across the state to protest against the midday meal tragedy.
Interacting with the media at the party office, RJD state unit president Ram Chandra Purbey said: “During the vote of trust in the Jharkhand Assembly, both JD(U) and BJP voted against the motion. It proves that both parties, who were in alliance for the past 17 years in Bihar and spilt recently, are still together. Two JD(U) MLAs, Gopal Krishna Patar and Sudha Choudhary, supported BJP by voting against the motion.” Yesterday, Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren won the vote of trust in the Assembly.
He added: “Both the parties may have broken the alliance but internally they are still together. Everyday Nitish Kumar is attacking the BJP for several reasons, which is a complete façade. In reality, he still supports BJP. The latest example is the voting against the motion in the Jharkhand Assembly along with the BJP.”
The Congress supported Nitish on June 19 when he went through a vote of trust but in Jharkhand Assembly, the JD(U) voted against the Congress-JMM alliance. All five MLAs of the RJD voted in support of Soren.
To prove his point of bonding between JD(U) and BJP, Purbey claimed that BJP leaders are still holding posts, though he did not name anyone.
“Nitish has yet removed BJP leaders occupying positions in various boards and corporations. He should have dismissed these people,” said Purbey. He added that Nitish has a dual face. In the coming Lok Sabha election, the people of his state will throw him out of power.
On Nitish’s allegation of BJP and RJD having a seat adjustment, Purbey said: “It is rubbish. Our leader Lalu Prasad has time and again said he will never go with a party, which is non-secular.”
The RJD also demanded a CBI probe into the midday meal tragedy.
