Saran: Six persons were feared dead when a boat capsized in the Gandak on Monday.

The incident happened near Saroja Bhagwanpur village around 8.30am when 12 persons boarded a country boat to cross the river to cut and bring grass for their cattle.

Some of them were also involved in cultivation of crops on land across the river.

Saran DM Harihar Prasad said: "The boat had moved a few metres when it capsized. Six people swam back to safety while six are missing."
