Calcutta, Nov. 4: The Calcutta regional passport office will hold a two-day passport seva camp in Asansol on November 12 and 13.
Applicants from the districts of Birbhum, Bankura, Asansol-Durgapur police commissionerate, Burdwan and Purulia can apply online at www.passportindia.gov.in, click on a link that says "camp at Asansol", make an online payment and generate an application reference number.
The slot for accepting online applications for these two days will open on November 6.
Only the first 300 applications in the "normal" category will be accepted to appear at the passport camp. No tatkal applications will be entertained, said officials at the regional passport office.
Applicants who get an appointment at the camp would be required to bring the online appointment receipt, a printout of the ARN (application reference number) and the relevant identity documents (in original and photocopies) needed to process a passport application.
The camp will be held at the office of the sub-divisional magistrate in the Asansol court compound.
A similar one-day-passport mela would be held at the Agartala Passport Seva Laghu Kendra for the applicants from Tripura on November 12.
Applicants would have to take an online appointment through the official website, click on a link that would say "passport mela at Tripura", make online payment and generate the ARN.
The online booking to attend the mela at Agartala will open on November 8 at 3.30pm. Only the first 90 applicants who would apply for "normal" category would get an appointment for the one-day mela.
Applicants who get through would be required to bring the online appointment receipt, a print out of the ARN (application reference number) and the relevant identity documents (in original and photocopies). The mela would be held at Passport Seva Laghu Kendra, 1st floor, Jackson Gate Building, Lenin Sarani, Agartala. Only online applications and online payments would be accepted at both the camp and the mela.
