Style for a cause For city shopaholics who still haven’t had their fill of Poila Baisakh shopping, Parampara 2010, in association with The Telegraph, presents the perfect opportunity to cash in. This year, the lifestyle exhibition hosted by the Rotary Club of Calcutta Chowrenghee turns 10. Fashion, accessories, jewellery and an assortment of other knick-knacks from all over the country will be on display, all under one roof. Participated by 36 outstation designers and 29 from the city, it will be inaugurated today at 5 pm by Prosenjit and Jaya Seal Ghosh. Some of the fashion labels on display are Shruti Modi, Eshaani Jayaswal, Neetika Swarup, Ritu Khurana, Anshu Jain, Ruchika Arora, Ruchi Kanoi, Neeta Shah, Myoho and Anuradha Raman. Nidhi Jain Kumar, Ranjana Gupta, Gauri Himatsinka and Priyanka Jalan are some of the participants in the jewellery corner. Furniture from Ambience, paintings by Amoa, accessories from Kamayani and Shweta Kapur are some of the others who will be displaying at the four-day mart. Seema Mathais, Pinky Saraf, Anand Dalwani, Vani Gupta and Ishween Anand of Mumbai and Pallavi Bhagat of Bangalore will showcase bath and body products. All proceeds from this fund-raising event will be used to develop basic rural infrastructure and amenities in Amtala and Bhangar, besides providing educational assistance to children of sex workers and assisting in paediatric heart surgeries.
