In an attempt to compensate for his own unfulfilled dream of becoming an artist, in his late life, Bobby Mukherjee set up Artspace India, a place that provides the right support, amenities and environment to the artists? milieu. Jointly hosted by Gallery Sanskriti and Artspace India, Remembering Bobby, the ongoing exhibition of paintings, pays tribute to the indomitable spirit of the man who, during the last phase of his life, dedicated his energies for the improvement of the lot of aspiring young artists. Featuring paintings done on a variety of mediums, themes and styles by well-known personalities of the art world, the show offers a comprehensive overview of contemporary artistic trends. Participating artists include A Ramachandran, Aditya Basak, Bikash Bhattacharjee, Ganesh Haloi, Jatin Das, Jogen Chowdhury, Lalu Prasad Shaw (Face; picture above), Paresh Maity, Paritosh Sen, Prakash Karmakar, Sanatan Dinda, Shyamal Dutta Roy and Shuvaprasanna.
