Lovers of jazz music in the city are in for a super treat with international jazz troupe Unit Asia scheduled to perform live this evening at a concert hosted jointly by the Consulate-General of Japan in Calcutta and Japan Foundation, in collaboration with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). Comprising five leading Asian jazz musicians, Isao ‘Sankichi’ Miyoshi of Japan (guitar), Hiroyuki Noritake of Japan (drums), Shigeki Ippon of Japan (bass), Tay Cher Siang of Malaysia (piano and keyboard) and Koh Mr Saxman of Thailand (saxophone), the group is expected to offer an electrifying music experience. Led by Miyoshi, Unit Asia will present a genre of music that is full of energy and transcends national and cultural boundaries, touching the hearts of listeners with a surfeit of emotions and impressions.

The cast also includes Bimal Chakraborty, Biswajit Chakraborty, Sudipa Basu, Joyraj Bhattacharya, Senjuti Mukhopadhyay and Minerva Repertory Theatre’s 24 actors.
