Man for all seasons

The Telegraph Online Published 06.05.11, 12:00 AM
Man for all seasons
Inspired by the Broadway hit and the film starring Walter Matthau, Ingrid Bergman and Goldie Hawn, this well-known comedy by Abe Burrows has been adapted to the Indian context in tonight’s production. Cactus Flower centres around young Toni, who tries to take her life, realising that her relationship with her married lover Julian has no future. Julian promises Toni that he will leave his wife, but it soon becomes clear that he is not married. The plot unfolds with Julian deciding to make his long-time assistant Stephanie pose as his wife. Steering clear of bedroom farce, this production is perfect as a fun play, and promises to appeal to everyone. Partnered by The Telegraph.
