Narayangarh, June 13: Mamata Banerjee today launched a series of projects in West Midnapore's Narayangarh, where she had promised voters "whatever you ask for" if they ousted Surjya Kanta Mishra.

"On April 8, I had given my word that I will come to Narayangarh if you make us win this time and taste your boras (fritters).... I have kept my word. I am here because of your love and blessings that I cannot ever repay," Mamata said at a government event, before handing out various benefits to 15,000-odd people.
It was not known if Mamata had boras today.
She laid the foundation of over 40 projects, most of which were related to health, water supply, transport and road infrastructure.
Mamata also announced a 300-bed hospital at a cost of Rs 65 crore, a government college on a 10-acre plot and an electrical sub-station.
"I have come to Narayangarh to express my gratitude. Nothing will come in the way of development. If one works, no conspiracy can work. The local administration, ministers, district and state-level officers will work in tandem for Narayangarh," Mamata told the 10,000-odd gathering.
Three days before Narayangarh voted on April 11, Mamata had told a campaign rally "I will do whatever you ask for if you defeat Surjyababu". Mishra, who had represented the seat since 1991, lost to Trinamul's Prodyut Ghosh by 13,589 votes.
Narayangarh is the first place where the chief minister held a public meeting since taking oath on May 27.
Some officials in Nabanna saw a "familiar note" in the way Mamata began her second term, referring to similar benefits she had extended in 2011 in Nayagram. Soon after coming to power in 2011, Mamata had offered benefits such as bicycles, scholarships, land rights and fishing tools.
Asked for a comment on Mamata's schemes, Mishra said: "I don't have to react every time she says something."
