In Malda, one firearm, 38 rounds of live cartridges and some items, suspected to make the ammunition, were recovered from a house under Chanchal police station. Santosh Karamakar, the house owner, has been arrested.

“It seems to be an illegal manufacturing unit of firearms and ammunition. We are probing the case and interrogating Santosh Karamakar, the house owner, who has been arrested,” said Suvendu Mandal, the sub-divisional police officer of Chanchal.
