Tamluk, Jan. 2: State police personnel posted in Nandigram for Monday’s poll have been told to co-operate with central forces on election duty.
Director-general of police A.B. Vohra met senior officers like IG (western range) Kuldiep Singh and DIG (Midnapore range) Praveen Kumar today. An officer said: “The DG instructed us to work in tandem with the central forces and render all co-operation.”
Seven BSF and eight CRPF companies are in Nandigram, besides 1,400 policemen. The police had clashed with paramilitary jawans, injuring a woman constable, during the panchayat polls on May 11.
