What: A Walk on the Promenade, a preview to the style store 85 Lansdowne.
Where: Pala at ITC Sonar Bangla Sheraton & Towers.
When: April 22, 8.30 pm onwards.
The show: The mammoth designer list attached to the design den touches a total of 24. And the names are Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Rina Dhaka, Kiran Uttam Ghosh, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Shantanu Goenka, Anamika Khanna, Raghavendra Rathore, Anuradha Vakil, Rahul Khanna and Rohit Gandhi (Cue), Manish Arora (Fish Fry), Namrata Joshipura, Puja Nayyar, Varun Bahl and Anju Modi.
Others like Nisha Beri, A Square Home, Gauri Bajoria, Suhani Pittie, Priyamanjari Todi, Meera Mahadevia, Shalini Sahni, Bon Bibi, Mallika’s and Stoffa will also be retailing from 85 Lansdowne, a venture initiated by New India Sugar Mills Ltd.
The fashion hub, near the Hazra-Lansdowne intersection, is all set to open its doors to Calcutta on April 23.
Some of the designer creations will be showcased during A Walk on the Promenade. A “crisp 35-minute catwalk”, the showing will flaunt some of the latest collections and works of these designers to a “restricted audience”.
Designers Raghavendra Rathore, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Anuradha Vakil, Anju Modi, Namrata Joshipura, Rahul Khanna and Rohit Gandhi will be flying down for the fashion gala. The Calcutta couture brigade will of course be present in full strength.
Ramp scorchers: Leading models of the nation like Diandra Soares, Vidisha Pavate, Neha Kapur, Dipannita Sharma, Indrani Das Gupta, Nayanika Chatterjee and Nethra Raghuraman will take to the ramp on Saturday night. The show has been conceptualised by Delhi-based photographer Asha Kochhar and choreographer Vidyun Singh.
E-chart: Lounge band Solid Colors will be performing through the evening, belting out everything from “evergreen, Broadway, sentimental and rock & roll.”
