Evening of music
CB Block held a musical evening for its residents at its community hall recently. The event featured songs, recitation and instrumental music.
The show started with some Jagjit Singh ghazals rendered by Monimala Paul Chowdhury. Sanaya Sardar, a Class VIII student of Loreto House, played songs like Anandalokey and Jab koi baat bigad jaye on the synthesiser. Some residents followed it up with the English version of the latter song — 500 miles.
There were some busy performers who stood up and took calls on their mobile phones on the stage occasionally winking at the audience!
“In this world threatened by terror music provides us peace. That was the objective behind holding the event,” said Manjusri Dutta, an organiser.
