Based on a novella by Piyush Jha, the upcoming thriller Iskaboner Bibi is expected to be a tense and fast-paced crime thriller that explores the vulnerability and fighting spirit of its women protagonists. Focusing on themes of crime, corruption, survival, resilience and mental health, the action of the story set in contemporary Calcutta, makes the modern metropolis with its brightly-lit landmarks and pockets of filth and stench become an integral part of the narrative. Painted in its familiar aspects, the city acts as a character anchoring the action, either as an ally to the dangerous deception the women are subject to, or as a guide enabling the women to escape through its unknown alleys and by-lanes. The tense, rhythmic yet brooding background score by Bickram Ghosh enhances the dark and dramatic atmosphere of the film while underscoring its themes of determination, fierce pushback and courage.

Also glimpsed in the trailer are Chandan Sen in the role of a doctor, Arjun Chakrabarty as CID officer Rajat Hajra and Gourab Chatterjee as police inspector Yusuf Khan, who are expected to play pivotal roles in this film with an impressive ensemble cast.
