A couple of hours from Udaipur Airport, 7km away from the city of Bhilwara, lies Sangam Farms, a sprawling 49 bigha of land that offers comfort in the midst of nature. This isn’t just your typical farm with agriculture, dairy, and fresh produce, but an experience that you really need to live, backed as it is by some solid, state-of-the-art facilities that make your stay invigorating as well as relaxing. t2 spent two days on the farm, several miles away from the hubbub of city life, and came away having learned how to play pickleball and having baked their first customised pizza!
Here’s getting you a walkthrough.
The Sangam group is well known for its textiles — a large empire of fabric production that spans everything from yarn and weaving to readymade garments. The farm in Bhilwara is a working farm as well as a luxury retreat. The property is designed to give guests a closer look at rural Rajasthan while keeping things relaxed and easy.
The landscape is open and green, with neat rows of seasonal crops like greens, mushrooms, and, in winter, strawberries. A modern dairy with around 150 Danish cows supplies milk that is turned into fresh cheese, ghee, butter and buttermilk for the kitchen; the farm is also working on a way to make their own ice cream.
The accommodation is made up of nine tents, including a larger presidential suite. The design borrows from classic safari-style camps, with canvas walls, wooden decks and soft, neutral interiors. Each tent has its own patio or garden space, a separate lounge and study. There are thoughtful touches like a Nespresso machine, Dyson hairdryer, and a small minibar provided, and a personal butler is assigned to every tent to cater to any special needs you might have.
Food is the heart of the stay. The on-site vegetarian restaurant, Sol, serves dishes made almost entirely from the farm’s produce and dairy. Breakfasts include but are not limited to fresh fruit, homemade bread and thick buttermilk. The menu changes with the seasons and mixes Indian and international influences, with plates like avocado-cheese Toastizza, cauliflower steak, pesto paneer, tandoori tacos and traditional Rajasthani thalis. Some evenings feature outdoor barbecues with simple grilled dishes such as malai broccoli and tandoori aloo, paired with drinks as the sun goes down.
Sangam Farms encourages guests to spend time with the land. At the centre of the farm is a pond, and around it are the tents and common areas, giving the place a calm, circular layout. You can walk through the vegetable rows and pick produce, visit the dairy to see how the milk is processed, or join the kitchen team for a cooking session (do volunteer for the pizza-making activity!).
For those who want more activity, there are ATVs, horse riding, cycling trails and even outdoor movie screenings, if the weather permits. Wellness options include sunrise yoga, spa treatments with hot stone massages, a sauna and a rooftop pool with a hot tub. At night, the clear skies make stargazing a highlight.
Room rates start at about ₹23,000 per night for two people, with meals included. The farm also arranges half-day trips to nearby spots like Shri Nathdwara Temple, Sanwariya Seth Mandir, and even the Sangam textile factory.
