The next series of iPhones is expected next month, and so will the next version of iOS, which is called iOS 26. Apple is ensuring the software update is an important one. Available now is the iOS 26 developer beta 6 (for developers only), and the public beta, which you can download and install now.

The big feature with iOS 26 is, of course, Liquid Glass, a new translucent look that extends across all of Apple’s upcoming operating systems.

Equally interesting will be the choice of ringtones. In earlier beta versions of iOS 26, the company added a single new ringtone for users. It was labeled ‘Alt 1’ under the default Reflection ringtone. With beta 6, the new option now has a name — Reflected. Further, it is being joined by five new alternate takes on the default ringtone.

In iOS 26 beta 6, there is are total of seven options for the default Reflection ringtone: Default, Buoyant, Dreamer, Pond, Pop, Reflected and Surge. There’s also a new Little Bird ringtone.

Liquid Glass has received subtle tweaks for readability in some areas. The changes have added more colour dispersion, while the Lock Screen and toggles also now offer Liquid Glass effects. Navigation bars in apps have been updated ever so slightly to increase translucency without impacting readability.
