For Mercedes-Benz, the AMG G63 Collector’s Edition is the first time it has customised a model for the Indian market. Essentially a G63 AMG, this edition limited to a run of 30 is an effort give it the bespoke touch to the preference of individual buyers. It has been created by Mercedes-Benz in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India.
Creating bespoke vehicles is a growing trend at the pointy end of the luxury and hypercar market with customers looking for ways to make a vehicle exclusive to themselves, more so in India. The Collector’s Edition is an effort to cater to that market. The company could create similar limited edition offering in future, it has said.
Red Magno is one of the two colours in which the Collector's Edition is available, the other being Mid Green Magno
Priced at ₹4.30 crore ex-showroom all-India, this performance powerhouse has a 585hp (430 kW), 850Nm Biturbo V8 engine that propels it from static to 100kmph in 4.4 seconds and up to a top speed of 240kmph. The two colour schemes exclusive to the model are Red Magno (in pictures), which looks nicely understated in the flesh, and Mid Green Magno.
The tail end is typical AMG G63, but there will be an insert mentioning Collector's Edition and a 'x of 30' on the spare wheel cover. The G63 moniker is in a very understated black
Other personalised touches include a name inscribed grab handle, the plaque on the spare wheel cover and the rubberised strip on the side, among others.
