Friends Communication has unveiled the motion poster of filmmaker Anik Dutta’s upcoming film, Joto Kando Kolkatatei, which is set for release during Durga Puja 2025.

Staying true to Dutta’s cinematic sensibilities, the film promises a blend of mystery, nostalgia, and cultural memory, wrapped in the textured layers of Bengali identity. Starring Abir Chatterjee in a sharply intriguing avatar as Topshe and Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed as Saba, the story journeys across countries, nostalgia, space, and the city of Calcutta itself — uncovering riddles, relationships, and buried truths.

The motion poster, released recently, offers a tantalising glimpse into this world — moody, evocative, and filled with subtle clues. With flickers of vintage Calcutta and cryptic visual cues, the design consciously reveals little, leaving viewers with a quiet desire to know more.

Producer Firdausul Hasan said,“Joto Kando Kolkatatei is our third collaboration with Anikda, after Meghnadbodh Rohosyo and Aparajito. This one is special — the film draws from the emotional and cultural roots of Bengal. Calcutta isn’t just the backdrop here, it’s the soul. The motion poster is a tribute to those small jigsaw puzzles. We hope it will intrigue audiences and set the mood for what’s coming this Puja.” Riddles unlock relationships, and every street corner may hold a secret in the film. As the countdown to Puja begins, this film is already generating buzz as one of the most anticipated Bengali releases of 2025.
