Why did you say ‘yes’ to the film?

For quite some time, I wanted to do a commercial film like Bramhaarjun. After spending many years on television, I felt it was the right time to move to the big screen, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. The film has everything — action, drama, romance, great songs — and I absolutely loved the script.

It’s quite a big leap for you from television to the silver screen. How has the experience been for you?

I’ve been a part of almost everything — TV serials, mega serials, hosting reality shows, and working on OTT platforms. I’ve always received immense love from the audience whenever I appeared on the small screen. When it came to mainstream Tollywood, I wanted to make my big-screen debut with a bang — something that would make the audience believe I can do it all. I’ve always wanted to be part of a commercial Bengali film, and I’ve been preparing for it both mentally and physically. The journey so far has been really fulfilling. I just hope that when the audience sees me on the silver screen for the first time, they show me the same love and support they always have.

What would you like to say about the common misconceptions people have about actors from television transitioning to the big screen?

Earlier, many actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput proved that TV actors can do exceptionally well on the big screen. For actors who are truly passionate and ready for any challenge, these misconceptions don’t matter. I’ve always been prepared for the big screen, although opportunities in Bengali cinema have been limited. For me, no medium is small. I’ve received immense love from television audiences, who are actually larger in number than those of the big screen. I believe I’m making this move now because I’m truly ready for it.

Can you relate to your character, Bramha?

Personally, I don’t relate too much to Bramha as he’s a grey character involved in a lot of anti-social activities, whereas I’m actually a very soft-hearted guy (laughs). But what drew me to Bramha is that he can do anything and everything for his family, his friends, and his love — that’s where I found a bit of Rohaan in him.

How has Dev inspired you to be an actor?

It was around 2006 or 2008 when I first felt the urge to become an actor. I grew up watching films by my favorite director, Raj Chakraborty, known for his action-packed, masala entertainers. Then came Devda, who rose to become a superstar in Bengali commercial cinema — I became a huge fan of his. Years later, I had the opportunity to work with him on a dance reality show, where he taught me a lot about acting and filmmaking. That experience further inspired me to take a step into mainstream cinema.

How was your shooting experience?

It was an absolutely amazing experience! I learned so many new things and had the opportunity to work with senior actors like Zarina Wahab, Kharaj Mukherjee, Mukesh Tiwari, and many others — I gained a lot from them. My friend Anindya, who plays Arjun, was also with me, and he made the experience even more enjoyable. We had early morning call times and late-night shoots, and we worked really hard, especially on the action sequences. I even had to gain weight for the role of Bramha. On top of that, I love to travel, and shooting in Jharkhand was a dream come true —with its stunning landscapes, mountains, green fields, and waterfalls. It was all truly worth it!
