CM: 2 lakh workers fed

Mamata promises to continue to do so as long as necessary

Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said her government had been since April 1 feeding and looking after over 2 lakh migrant workers from 16 states who were stuck in Bengal, assuring that she would continue to do so as long as necessary.

“We are taking care of all people, irrespective of religion, race, caste,” Mamata said. “We are running 711 camps for migrant labourers. We have been feeding over 2 lakh migrant labourers and other stranded people since April 1. We will continue to do so.”
