Manipur shooting
Imphal, Aug. 12: G. Yaima Sharma claimed the gold medal in the standard pistol 25-metre men's individual event of the 25th All Manipur Shooting Competition, 2015 held at Shooting Range, Khuman Lampak.
With 21 shooters in the fray, Sharma, representing Imphal East, shot his way to 259 points to grab the gold medal in the standard pistol (NR) championship 25-metre men's individual event. G. Shyamkanhai Sharma, also of Imphal East, with 246 points and Ajay Singh Huidrom of Imphal West with 241 points collected the silver and bronze medals.
In the standard pistol (NR) championship 25-metre junior individual event, Ajay Singh Huidrom of Imphal West shot his way to the gold with 241 points. L. Delux with 233 points and G. Narendra Deva Sharma with 229 points, both belonging to Imphal East, settled for the silver and bronze medals. Eleven shooters competed in the category.
In the .177 peep sight air rifle (NR) championship 10-metre youth women's individual event, W. Julia Devi of Imphal West bagged the gold with 360 points out of 400 marks. Rk. Mamta Devi of Imphal West with 346 points and M. Chaoba Chanu of Imphal East with 321 points took the silver and bronze medals.
Football: The Imphal West District Football Association has recommended eight players to the AMFA for attending the preliminary trial of Fifa under-17 World Cup to be organised by AMFA. The players are Ph. Dolendro, Sasang, Haolenthang, Y. Bobosana, W. Kishan, W. Ronaldo, Kh. Morangba and Paogoulen.
