Dhanbad: As many as 72 BTech students from IIT(ISM) as well as other engineering cradles like NIT Rourkela, Asansol Engineering College and Amity University learned the ropes of assembling several kinds of robots on the inaugural day of Concetto, the IIT(ISM) tech fest on the host institute's campus on Friday.

Calcutta-based engineering training centre I & WE taught students how to assemble obstacle avoiding, gas detecting and live weather monitoring robots during a workshop held at the New Lecture Hall Complex at IIT(ISM), here.

Event co-ordinator and BTech student Aditya Singh said, "Participants have been divided into 18 groups of four each. The groups will assemble a robot each on their own on Saturday, the second day of the event."

Aayush Ahuja, a second-year student of the five-year integrated MTech programme of the host institute said, "The previous workshops at the institute were all theory-based. The one conducted by the experts today (Thursday) was primarily on practical aspects."

"After the seven-hour training today (Thursday), we will assemble robots on Friday. Our robots will perform various tasks aided by artificial intelligence and sensors" said Bhavesh Garg, a student.
