Dhanbad: The three-day Technical festival of IIT(ISM), Concetto 2018, will begin on the institute premises, here, from Friday.

Students from several technical institutes including IIT-Kharagpur, BIT-Mesra, NIT-Patna, NIT-Jamshedpur, IIT-Roorkee and BIT-Sindri, will participate in a host of events including a workshop on robotics, a seminar on emerging technologies - like internet of things (IoT) and artificial intelligence - and another on entrepreneurship, during the event.

The fest will begin with over 200 B Tech students sweeping the campus roads and collecting garbage from the hostels at 7am in the morning as part of a cleanliness message.

A workshop on robotics scheduled at the New Lecture Hall Complex is a major inaugural-day attraction during which participants will field their self-made wired/wireless, manually controlled robots against each other.

B Tech 3rd year student and event co-coordinator Aditya Singh said the seminar on emerging technologies will also be held on the same day.

"The IoT technology is the latest technology in the IT sector which facilitates man-to-machine and machine-to-machine interaction," said Singh.

On the second day of the event on January 13, core members of Team Indus will visit the campus to interact with the students during a seminar at the Golden Jubilee Lecture Theatre and discuss their lunar spacecraft development mission. Headquartered in Bangalore, Team Indus is a bunch of professionals from diverse backgrounds including science, technology, finance and media, vying for the Google Lunar Prize announced in 2007 which calls for participating teams to design and land a spacecraft on the moon.

"The concluding day of the event of will witness startups flocking here to pitch their ideas before startup incubator Neotech Hub (an Ambuja Neotia group)," Aditya said.

Animation Reality Treasure Hunt, an Android app-based game in which participants will be challenged to find "treasures" nestled at various places on the campus will run on all three days of the fest as a fun activity.
