Calcutta, Nov. 4 :    Calcutta, Nov. 4:  Wrichik Mazumder is the surprise inclusion in the 14-member Bengal squad for the Ranji Trophy tie against Tripura, to be played here from November 19 to 22. The squad led by Devang Gandhi includes five new faces, opener Arijit Bose, batsman Pitambar Dutta, medium-pacers Sujay Parui, Shib Shankar Pal and allrounder Sanjib Sanyal. Opener Alokendu Lahiri has been put on standbye and may get a call if wicketkeeper Syed Saba Karim is named in the national side for the first Test against Zimbabwe beginning November 18. Deep Dasgupta is the other stumper in the XIV. Wrichik's selection is surprising as the leg-spinner was not among the 26 probables. 'He's in as off-spinner Sourasish Lahiri will be busy with under-19 matches. Also, Wrichik impressed the captain and selectors at the nets where he was present as an extra bowler,' explained selection committee chief Ashok Malhotra. Devang said he will bat at No. 3.
