Calcutta: It was curtains to the 25-Day season on Friday. The season had posed a big challenge to the RCTC’s work-force following the outbreak of equine fever. The season was truncated by nearly a third of its original size but big fields and fierce competition during the last three-and-half months were worth remembering.
The afternoon also witnessed jockey C. Alford posting his 50th win of the season astride trainer Arti doctor’s charge, Impressive Wish, in the Desert Fire Cup. Incidentally, it was the horse’s third successive win.
