White Plains (US): The purse for the US Open will be $19.6 million, a $1 million increase from last year, the US Tennis Association has said. In all, a potential $22.2 million — including bonus prize money for the US Open series — could be paid out.
The US Open series is a six-week summer tennis season linking 10 ATP and WTA Tour tournaments to the year’s final Grand Slam.
For the 35th consecutive year, the USTA offers equal prize money to both men and women — a first among Grand Slams starting in 1973.
