Nasik: Karnataka emerged overall champions in the 21st national sub-junior swimming and diving championships which concluded on Monday. Karnataka returned a rich haul of 39 medals, including 17 gold.
Papiya Banerjee (Bengal), Hrutika Sairam and Poonam Shah (both Maharashtra) were named champions in the girls’ section.
K. Divakar of Tamil Nadu and Saurabh Sangvekar of Maharashtra were adjudged best swimmers in the boys’ category.
Karnataka’s Madhavi Giri and V. Vaibhavi were declared best in the girls’ section. (PTI)
