Ludhiana: JCT Mills, Phagwara pipped Air India 2-1 in the eighth round of the 10th ONGC Cup for the National Football League at the Guru Nanak Stadium here on Sunday.
JCT dominated the match right from the start and were 2-0 up by the half time.
Both the goals were scored by their foreign recruit Marcos Pereira, who struck twice before the breather.
Air India’s solitary goal came in the injury time when striker Benoy Kuruvilla latched on to a pass from Narendra Meetei.
With the win, JCT now have nine points from eight matches, while Air India have secured seven points from six matches.
Meanwhile in Jamshedpur, Tata Football Academy (TFA) were held to a goalless draw by State Bank of Travancore, (SBT) in the ONGC Cup for the Second Division National Football League at JRD Tata Sport Complex here on Sunday.
TFA are on top of the points table with nine points from five outings, which includes two win and three draws.
SBT, earned eight points from two win, two draw and a loss.
