Rajkot: Struggling Gujarat Lions are set to receive a much-needed boost with the imminent return of ace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja during their clash against Rising Pune Supergiant in IPL X here on Friday.
Jadeja missed the first two games after he was advised rest for two weeks by the BCCI medical team soon after India's Tests against Australia. Jadeja has had a terrific home season with both ball and bat, and his return will boost the Lions' morale.
Asked about Jadeja's return, Rising Pune captain Steve Smith said, "He (Jadeja) is a quality player, he has been good in IPL and his inclusion would strengthen the Gujarat Lions".
Lions bowling coach Heath Streak said missing Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo had upset the balance of the team. "Without Jadeja, without Bravo, the two key players for us, the two experience players' absence has disturbed the balance of our side. Now that Jadeja is making a comeback, we are looking forward to do well," Streak said.
