On Tuesday, Mohun Bagan felicitated Olympian M.A. Sattar and Bhaichung Bhutia for their contribution to Indian soccer.
The felicitation coincided with the Mohun Bagan day, observed on July 29 each year to celebrate the club’s IFA Shield victory in 1911. Sattar was conferred with the Mohun Bagan Ratna and was presented a citation and a scroll apart from a purse of Rs.50,000.
East Bengal were held 3-3 by the Rungta Group in their ONGC Bengal Premier League Table Tennis tie at the SAI. Soumi Mondal of the Rungta Group upset Poulomi Ghatak. But national champion Soumyadip Roy, representing East Bengal, won his ties.
