Shreya Ghosh to represent India
Bengal’s Shreya Ghosh will represent the country in the ensuing 4th Children’s of Asia Table Tennis meet to be held at Yaaustia, Russia from Thursday. Other participating countries in the seven-day meet are China, Kazakhstan and Thailand. The finals are on July 9.
The six-day BCCI Level A Coaching Camp, which was earlier scheduled to start from July 8, has been deferred by a day and will now be held from July 9-13, CAB joint secretary Amitava Banerjee said on Tuesday.
Mohun Bagan will honour former Olympian Mohammed Abdus Sattar with the Mohun Bagan Ratna for 2008-09 on July 29, the Mohun Bagan day. A senior Bagan official on Tuesday said that the club executive committee has decided to confer the prestigious award on Sattar and also has plans to felicitate skipper Bhaichung Bhutia for getting Padma Shree.
